What is a subclass 651 visa?
The subclass 651visa is the Australian Government eVisitor visa. It allows individuals to visit Australia for tourist or business visitor purposes, and stay in Australia for up to 3 months at a time within the 12 month time eligibility period of the visa. To apply for the Australian visa eVisitor subclass 651 you must hold a passport from one of the eligible countries.
What is the difference between eVisitor and Visitor visa?
The eVisitor visa subclass 651 is for people with passports from European Union countries as well as some other European non EU countries. The Australian ETA visa and Australian Visitor visa are different tourist and business visas for travel to Australia. A citizen of any country can apply for an Australian Visitor visa, but for this reason the application process is far more complicated and selective. If you are eligible it is much easier to apply for an eVisitor visa or ETA visa than a Visitor visa.
Can I extend my 651 visa?
The short answer is maybe. It all depends what you mean by ‘extend’. You cannot extend your time on your current eVisitor visa, but you can apply for another eVisitor visa or another type of Australian Visitor visa.
Can I apply for my eVisitor visa subclass 651 in Australia?
No. You must be outside when you apply for an eVisitor Australia application. However, you do not need to be in your home country when you apply. As soon as you are granted your eVisitor visa you can enter Australia.
How long does an Australian eVisitor visa take to obtain?
It can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to process your eVisitor visa application. Usually it will only take a few days unless there is something that needs to be clarified or additional documentation is required.
Can I get an eVisitor subclass 651 Australia visa at the airport?
