What is a Working Holiday visa in Australia?

This is a great visa option. As the name suggests, a Working holiday visa AU is a visa that allows the holder to both work and also holiday in Australia. You can work as much as you like on this visa but you can usually only work for 1 employer for a maximum of 6 months. The visa is valid for 1 year but you can apply for a 2nd and even a 3rd visa to potentially extend you stay to 3 years.

What is the difference between 417 and 462 visa?

A Subclass 417 visa is a Working Holiday visa, whereas a Subclass 462 visa is a Work and Holiday visa. The main differences between the 2 visas are:

The countries of citizenship that are eligible for each visa. The eligible countries for the 417 are mentioned above, whereas the eligible countries for the 462 are: Argentina, Austria, Chile, P. R. China, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Israel, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Peru, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, Uruguay, United States of America, Vietnam.

There are certain minimum education requirements for the 462, whereas for the 417 there are not.

For the 462, applicants from many countries require a letter of support from their Government, whereas for the 417 this is not required.

A 462 visa applicant has to prove a certain minimum level of English proficiency, whereas this is not required for the 417 visa application.

What is the maximum age for a Working Visa for Australia?

However, if you are from Canada, the Republic of Ireland or France you are allowed to be up to 35 years of age at the time of your application. If you are the 30 when you apply but turn 31 before you are granted the visa you can still be granted the visa, and the same applies to citizens of Canada, the Republic of Ireland or France, who can be 35 but turn 36 before a decision is made.
